It costs $3,500 to support a tradeswoman for one year. It costs $60 to educate a high school student about career paths in trade. TWA’s Apprenticeship Scholarship program aims to support and retain women and gender diverse persons in non-traditional trade apprenticeships and traineeships by overcoming cost of living pressures.
Apprenticeship scholarships are provided by businesses and organisations committed to supporting women to stay and thrive in the careers they love.
Scholarships provide women struggling with cost-of-living pressures/necessitous needs with financial aid, and provide mentorship, connection and wrap around support.
In addition, the program collects and disseminates data to create better understanding of the lived experience of female apprentices and contributes to a heightened level of awareness of the issues and barriers that women face in taking on and completing apprenticeship.
