Ruma Mathew
Operations Lead
Ruma is a women’s rights advocate with over seven years’ experience working in community development, family violence and women’s rights-focused organisations. Her work is grounded in a strong commitment to social justice, intersectionality, and equitable access to services, particularly for diverse and underrepresented communities.
With a background in law and commerce and postgraduate qualifications in international and human rights law, she brings both a legal and systems lens to her work, and is particularly interested in how governance, service design, and operational systems can be strengthened to deliver more responsive, inclusive, and effective outcomes.
Originally from India, she began her career in legal practice before moving to Australia in 2017 to focus on supporting women through community-led initiatives, advocacy, and program delivery.
